Narrative
Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, is making a play to seize the reins of Gotham’s crime world. Aside from a bat-sniffing cameo in the final shot of the season finale, we never got a Robert Pattinson cameo in “The Penguin.” In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where the hell was Batman? Colin Farrell fought hard to make The Penguin smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but he didn’t succeed. In his own series, however, the character is depicted as a casual tobacco user, preferring to smoke cigars.
The Penguin is simply awesome
An umbrella falls and the emblem turns into the Warner Bros. logo. Starring Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). Wow.
I was wrong
Everyone knows what a great actor Colin Farrell is, but he’s unrecognizable as The Penguin. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was nominated for an award for his role in this. The biggest surprise was Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone. I wasn’t too sure when I heard she was nominated for an actress for this role, she’s a good actress, but I didn’t think this role was for her.
That’s how DC should do it
She’s as good as Farrell in this and makes you believe that Sofia Falcone is a real rival for The Penguin. I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw what award she was nominated for for this role. This isn’t your typical DC or Marvel show, it’s a full-on gangster series. This series is set in a half-destroyed Gotham City underworld and is a great follow-up to Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
